I am currently accepting clients in the areas of FileMaker Development and Website Design. My FileMaker experience includes working with large-scale (60+ file) multi-table solutions in a "mission-critical" environment. That is, I design and develop databases in FileMaker that go beyond cookie-cutter Contact Management/Invoicing solutions. This is a small sampling of projects I've worked on:
- Integrated FileMaker with an ASP-based web site using flat file data exports
- Created a 2 way ODBC based link between FileMaker server and the FedEx Shipping Manager Software
- Used 3rd party tools to create a live link between InDesign and FileMaker, allowing a print catalog designer to quickly update pricing and product details.
Generally speaking, I can bring myself up to speed on new software and technologies quickly. I am familiar with the standard "suite" of web design tools and technologies. I am most at home creating XHTML/CSS sites using Photoshop and TextMate. I have experience extending PHP, ASP.NET and Ruby on Rails solutions. To me, a designer's work is done not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to subtract.
About Me
Currently, I am enrolled full time in the Human Factors/Ergonomics Masters program at San José State University in California. I hold a B.S. in Information Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
